Balerno Folk Club meets most months on the last Tuesday in the function room of Balerno Bowling Club (a map with the ability to get directions can be found on the Where we meet page). As a monthly club we tend to book well-established professional (or semi-professional) artistes. We also try to provide a wide selection of talent so that there is always something for everyone’s particular taste in folk music.
We do not meet in July or August, when we have a couple of months off. Occasionally we run Charity Concerts and make donations to local charities. In December, we run a Christmas Ceilidh instead of a folk night and this is usually held on a Friday night a couple of weeks before Christmas. It is a mixture of dancing and singing, with the entertainment provided by our regular “floor spot artistes”.
