Barnsley Folk and Acoustic Night (aka Barnsley Folk Club) is a small friendly folk club that meets evey monday night (except bank holidays) in Barnsley Trades Club Lounge.
We start at 8pm with a slow trad music session, then it’s Singers and Musicians from about 9pm, where everyone is welcome to perform a song or two or just to listen. It’s a bit like Open Mic, but with no pa.
Every few weeks there is a Guest Night (2 x 45min slots) or a Featured Artist (30 – 45 mins), with shorter Singers and Musicians sessions.
We believe that Folk Music should be open to everyone – there is no admission fee, just a collection during the break, £1 suggested for a Singers night, £5 for a guest night, and £2 for a featured artist night if you can afford it. We operate on a not for profit basis – all money collected goes towards paying the guests.
