Harry Brazil was one of fifteen children in a Romany family who travelled in Ireland for many years before settling in Gloucester in 1919. He had a fine tenor voice and sang old songs to modal tunes. Peter Shepheard recorded him in the 1960s, and he was later recorded in the Pelican pub in Gloucester. Angina made him give up singing some years before his death.
