Dáithí Sproule

Sproule grew up in Derry and, in Dublin, formed Skara Brae with the Ó Domhnaill family he had met in the Donegal Gaeltacht. He was one of the first to use DADGAD tuning for Irish music, a sound that shaped a generation of accompanists. He joined Altan in 1992, has lived for many years in Minnesota, and teaches guitar and song there.
