A team of eight dancers in military style uniforms perform Handsworth’s longsword dance, weaving their metre-long steel swords into a lock that is held aloft at the end. The team has danced in Woodhouse and Handsworth on Boxing Day since 1963, and dancers and audience go on to the pub for carols afterwards.
