The procession leaves the Methodist chapel on Buxton Road at 18:30 and visits the village pubs. At about 20:00 the garland is hoisted onto the church tower and there is maypole dancing in the Market Place.

About

The Garland King rides round the village on horseback, covered to the waist by a heavy bell-shaped garland of flowers, with his Consort, a silver band and dancing children following. At the end the garland is hoisted onto a pinnacle of the church tower.
