The Crookham Mummers have kept their play going for generations and perform it round the village on Boxing Day. King George takes on a string of challengers in fights with wooden swords that often break, the script picks up topical jokes each year, and heckling is welcome. The collection goes to charity.

The Exchequer
The play is performed outside the Exchequer on Crondall Road at 12:00, then at the Spice Merchant on The Street at about 12:45, the Crescent Green at about 13:30 and the Queens Head in Dogmersfield at about 14:00. Each performance lasts about 25 minutes.
