Hone prints under early February a piece of farming advice in verse from Thomas Tusser’s Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandry. February was the season to plough the stubble and sow vetches, beans and peas, and to get the grey peas and runcivals in early, but white peas were not to be sown until St Gregory’s Day, 12 March.
