Scan Tester

Lewis Tester, always known as Scan, spent his whole long life in the Sussex countryside north of Brighton, playing for local dances on Anglo concertina, fiddle, melodeon and bandoneon. He learned from his elder brother Trayton and ran a family dance band in the 1920s. Recordings made in his later years brought his lively playing to the folk revival.
