Robin Hall worked as an actor before teaming up with Jimmie Macgregor, and for a decade the pair sang nightly to millions on BBC television’s Tonight. Among the first Scottish folk stars, they recorded some twenty albums, and Hall also sang in the Galliards. When the duo parted in 1981 he went on to produce radio programmes.
