William Kimber was a Headington Quarry bricklayer and Anglo concertina player whose morris side danced for Cecil Sharp on Boxing Day 1899, sparking the English morris revival. He travelled to London to teach the dances to the girls of the Espérance Club, and he supplied tunes and figures for Sharp’s Morris Book. When the Quarry side reformed in 1947 he was its instructor once more.
