Andy M. Stewart came from a Traveller family and learned songs from Belle Stewart. He made his name with Puddock’s Well and then fronted Silly Wizard from 1976 until the band stopped in 1988. He also wrote songs that became folk standards, such as The Ramblin’ Rover, and made fine duo records with Manus Lunny and Gerry O’Beirne.
