Bert Jansch grew up in Edinburgh and moved to London in the mid 1960s, where his first album made him a hero of the folk clubs. His inventive fingerstyle guitar influenced players from Jimmy Page to Johnny Marr. He founded Pentangle with John Renbourn and kept recording solo albums until his death from cancer.
