Billy Thom

Billy Thom learned drumming in pipe bands as a boy and became the most influential Scottish dance band drummer of his era. He played with Andrew Rankine, Jimmy Shand, Jim Johnstone and John Carmichael, appeared on the White Heather Club, and also loved big band jazz. Jim Johnstone wrote the Billy Thom Reel in his honour.
