Bob Copper was the best known voice of the Copper Family of Rottingdean, whose harmony singing of Sussex songs has passed down through many generations. In the 1950s he collected songs across southern England for the BBC, and he wrote several books on village life, including A Song for Every Season. His family still carry the singing on.
