Chris Foster first heard traditional songs in his native Somerset and trained as an artist before an agent spotted him at Dingles Folk Club in London. His albums Layers and All Things in Common paired English songs with intricate open tuned guitar, and he later moved to Iceland, where he performs as Funi with the singer Bára Grímsdóttir.
