Chris While is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Barrow-in-Furness, and many of her songs draw on her life there. She was lead singer with The Albion Band from 1993 to 1997. Since 1995 she has worked in partnership with Julie Matthews, and the pair were named Best Duo at the 2009 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
