Dafydd Iwan

Dafydd Iwan made his name writing and singing folk songs in Welsh, many of them political ballads. He campaigned for the language with Cymdeithas yr Iaith, helped found Sain Records and was president of Plaid Cymru from 2003 to 2010. His 1982 song Yma o Hyd became an unofficial anthem for the Welsh football team.
