Danny Kyle was a lifelong Paisley man. He trained as a panel beater before throwing himself into the folk revival of the 1960s, when he helped set up the town’s Attic Folk Club. A friend of Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty, he was a warm and very funny presence at festivals across Europe. His love of new talent lives on in the Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections.
