Dave Cousins

Dave Cousins led Strawbs as its singer and chief songwriter from 1967, taking the band from its beginnings as the bluegrass Strawberry Hill Boys through folk, folk rock and progressive rock. An early Strawbs album, All Our Own Work, was made with Sandy Denny. Alongside the music he built a career in radio, running Devon Air for eight years, and Strawbs played their farewell show at Cropredy in 2023.
