Dave Swarbrick

Dave Swarbrick, known to everyone as Swarb, was the fiddler who helped to shape English folk rock. After playing in a celebrated duo with Martin Carthy, he joined Fairport Convention in 1969, played on Liege and Lief and stayed with the band through the 1970s. His energetic playing made him one of the most influential fiddlers of the revival, and he kept performing through serious illness.
