Denis Murphy

Denis Murphy was born into a musical household at Lisheen, Gneeveguilla, and with his sister Julia Clifford learned the fiddle from Pádraig O’Keeffe. He spent years in New York before settling back home in 1965. The Star Above the Garter, recorded with Julia in 1969, is among the most influential albums of Irish fiddle music.
