The composer E. J. Moeran was a keen collector of folk songs. He noted many of them in Norfolk pubs in the early 1920s and joined the committee of the Folk-Song Society in 1923. Folk music from Norfolk and from his Irish roots runs through his own work, including Six Norfolk Folk Songs and Songs from County Kerry. He spent his later years in Kenmare.
