Hamish Imlach was born in Calcutta to Scottish parents. He came to Glasgow as a boy and was a regular in the city’s folk clubs from 1959. A fine guitarist and a born storyteller, he recorded many albums for Transatlantic, toured widely in Europe, and encouraged Billy Connolly, John Martyn and Christy Moore.
