Ian Hardie was an Edinburgh fiddler and prolific composer who came through the Sandy Bell’s sessions of the 1970s and helped found Jock Tamson’s Bairns. He was a solicitor for many years, and his tunes fill three books. His solo album Westringing traced the links between Appalachian fiddling and Scottish and Irish music.
