Janet Blunt spent her first thirty years in India, then settled at Adderbury in north Oxfordshire. From 1907 she noted around 125 songs from 46 local singers, often at her own piano, and wrote down the village morris dances from the side’s leader, William ‘Binx’ Walton. Her notes and those of Cecil Sharp later allowed Adderbury Morris to be revived.
