Jez Lowe writes songs about everyday life in North East England, especially the mining community of Easington Colliery where he grew up. He performs alone and with his band the Bad Pennies, playing guitar, cittern and harmonica. Fairport Convention, the Dubliners and the Unthanks are among the many acts who have recorded his songs.
