Joe Boyd came to London from America in the 1960s and, working with the engineer John Wood at Sound Techniques in Chelsea, produced celebrated records by Fairport Convention, the Incredible String Band and Nick Drake. He later started Hannibal Records, and his memoir White Bicycles tells the story of those years.
