John Blek

John Blek is a songwriter from Cork who first came to notice fronting John Blek and the Rats before turning to solo work built on fingerstyle guitar and Irish, British and American folk. His album Thistle and Thorn topped the Irish independent chart and his song Salt in the Water was nominated at the Folk Alliance International awards. He built his own studio, Bigger River Recording Co., where he made The Midnight Ache.
