John Martyn

John Martyn grew up in Glasgow and came out of the folk clubs with a startling, jazz tinged guitar style. Albums such as Bless the Weather and Solid Air blended folk, blues and jazz, and his use of echo on the guitar was far ahead of its time. He kept recording and touring for four decades and was made an OBE shortly before his death.
