Julia Clifford

Julia Clifford was a Sliabh Luachra fiddler who, like her brother Denis Murphy, was taught by the travelling master Pádraig O’Keeffe. With her husband John she played London’s Irish dance halls and later the Star of Munster Ceili Band. She recorded The Star Above the Garter with her brother in 1969, and in later years she was a warm presence in sessions and folk clubs across East Anglia.
