Kathryn Tickell is the leading Northumbrian piper of her generation and a fine fiddler. She grew up in the North Tyne valley, learning tunes from older local players, and released her first album while still a teenager. She has taken the music of Northumberland to concert halls around the world and has worked widely with orchestras and young players.
