Liam Weldon

Liam Weldon was a Dublin singer and songwriter who grew up in Ballyfermot and cared deeply about the songs of Irish Travellers. His own songs, among them Dark Horse on the Wind and The Blue Tar Road, spoke of poverty and injustice. In the 1970s he sang with the group 1691 and ran the Pavees Club.
