Martin Carthy

Martin Carthy is one of the great interpreters of English traditional song, and his guitar style has shaped generations of players. He came up through the London folk clubs of the early 1960s, played with Dave Swarbrick and in Steeleye Span, and joined the Watersons after marrying Norma Waterson. His arrangements of songs such as Scarborough Fair travelled far beyond the folk scene.
