Norma Waterson was a founding member of the Watersons, the Hull family group whose unaccompanied harmony singing helped define English traditional song in the 1960s. She later sang with her husband Martin Carthy and their daughter Eliza as Waterson:Carthy, and her 1996 solo album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.
