Born
5 August 1954, Clontarf, Dublin (72)

Taught by his Donegal born father Tom, Glackin played in the Donegal style from childhood and counts the travelling fiddler John Doherty as his great influence. He won the All Ireland fiddle title in 1973 and was a founding member of the Bothy Band. He later worked for RTÉ, recorded Doublin with Paddy Keenan and In Full Spate with Dónal Lunny, and teaches at the Willie Clancy Summer School.
