Paddy Tunney

Paddy Tunney came from a family steeped in traditional song, and his mother Brigid Tunney was a noted singer. Known as the Man of Songs, he was a singer, lilter, poet and writer who taught for many years at Scoil Éigse and wrote The Stone Fiddle. Songs he kept alive were taken up by Planxty, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine and Dick Gaughan.
