Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin grew up in an Irish speaking home in County Louth and has made a life’s work of the song tradition of Oriel. Her book A Hidden Ulster gathers the people, songs and customs of that region, and her album Áilleacht was the first by a woman made up of new songs in Irish.
