Phyllis Kinney

Phyllis Kinney was an American soprano who sang with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. She met Meredydd Evans in Bangor in 1947, married him and made Wales her home. She learned Welsh, sang duets with her husband on the BBC, and together they edited song collections now seen as definitive. Her history of Welsh traditional music remains a standard work in English.
