Ray Fisher came from a Glasgow family of singers and first performed as a duo with her brother Archie. She married Colin Ross of the High Level Ranters, settled in the North East, and became a leading voice of Scots song in England, especially loved for the big ballads. She also taught for Folkworks and encouraged singers of every level.
