Ronnie Drew started the group that became The Dubliners in 1962 and was its gravelly voiced frontman for many years. He was a gifted storyteller with a famous memory for songs and verse. Rousing versions of Finnegan’s Wake, Dicey Reilly and Seven Drunken Nights carried the band far beyond Ireland, and he later worked as a solo performer and actor.
