Roy Bailey spent his life singing about justice, and Tony Benn called him the greatest socialist folk singer of his generation. He made several albums with the songwriter Leon Rosselson, and his record Leaves from a Tree collected songs from the struggles of working people. He lived with heart failure for more than thirty years and died in a Sheffield hospice.
