Roy Harris sang mostly unaccompanied, favouring sea and military songs. He helped start the folk club movement in South Wales while living in Cardiff, and in 1967 founded the Nottingham Traditional Music Club. Known as the gentleman of folk song, he made over a dozen albums, largely for Topic and Fellside.
