Sam Sweeney joined the band Kerfuffle as a boy and later spent eight years in Bellowhead. In 2015 he formed the trio Leveret, became artistic director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble and was named Musician of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. His solo albums begin with The Unfinished Violin.
