Simon Nicol

Simon Nicol grew up in Muswell Hill in north London. Fairport Convention is named after his family’s house, Fairport, where the band first rehearsed in 1967. He is the only founder still in the group and has been its main guitarist and singer since he rejoined in 1975. He has also played with the Albion Band, made albums as a duo with Dave Swarbrick and helps run the Cropredy festival.
