Tom Munnelly

Tom Munnelly collected songs and folklore for University College Dublin for more than thirty years. He moved to County Clare in 1978 to be nearer the singers, and he recorded, indexed and transcribed more than 20,000 songs. He was a staunch champion of unaccompanied singing, and the National University of Ireland Galway gave him an honorary doctorate in 2007.
