Tony Rose discovered folk song as a student at Oxford in the early 1960s and turned professional in 1969. His first album, Young Hunting, mixed West Country songs with comic pieces and long ballads, and his relaxed voice, guitar and concertina made him a favourite of the second revival. In the late 1970s he formed Bandoggs with Pete and Christine Coe and Nic Jones.
