Wiggy Smith

Wiggy Smith was born in a covered wagon on Filton Common into a Romany family who travelled around Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and the West Midlands. He learned most of his songs round the stick fire from his father Wisdom and his uncles. He served in the Second World War and later spent years on farm work and hop picking. Musical Traditions issued his singing on Band of Gold.
