Among the nursery songs of a collection published in 1825, which the Year Book praised, is one headed to be sung on a high wind. It tells how Arthur o’ Bower has broken his band and comes roaring up the land, and that the King of Scots with all his power cannot turn him. The Year Book writer admired the grandeur of the wind pictured as a conqueror who has broken his bonds and dares a king to take the field against him.
