Killallan kept a January fair called Fillan’s Fair, or Fillan’s Day, after the saint of the old parish. Near the kirk was Fillan’s Well, where country women bathed weak and rickety children and hung pieces of cloth on the bushes as an offering to the saint, until a minister had the well filled with stones about 1700. The minister of Houston and Killallan reported both, placing the fair in January, when St Fillan’s day of 9 January falls.

There is a fair held in the month of January, called Fillan's Fair, and Fillan's Day.
